Valentine's Day.

Don't tell anyone, but Valentine's Day and Groundhog Day are my favorite holidays. I usually say Halloween is my favorite, because well, it's super fun and stuff, but it's not my favorite. Groundhog day is awesome because it makes absolutely no sense and I worship Bill Murray and he is in the movie Groundhog Day. I love the super weird people that go to see the giant rat come out of a plastic stump, certainly want to visit that before I die (it's so American! and I can't even begin to explain why). And Valentine's Day is just the best because I love relationships and love and all that stuff. I love heart shaped things and cooking and baking, and going out on dates, and chocolate, and how if you say Valentine's Day is your favorite women think that you are evil or something because you aren't going through, or had a bad relationship. Well guess what, relationships are super hard and I have been through bad ones, and I still love Valentine's Day. So there.

how many days will it rain?

So, you know me, I must only write about the positive things, because that will make me happy! But I have been having some crappy days...but then I start writing in my sketchbook and I realize that nothing is that bad. I have realized that I have way less money than I thought, and despite looking through my bank statements for like half an hour, I still can't figure out what I spent it on. I guess the feeling of not worrying about money is nice, and that feeling made me spend money. Oops. I'm still determined to go to NYC though, and I will, even if I'm broke. Thank god for net working! and couch surfing! and for peanut butter and jelly bagels! Because if it weren't for those things I imagine it would be very hard to travel. 

I was featured on another blog the other day for being fashionable! Right in the middle of the rain, when I was yelling at my dogs, and fighting with Fabio; amazing. The picture turned out amazing too, because I think it shows how I want to be positive, even when all these chaotic things are going on around me. It's on lord-maxwell.blogspot.com which is the most adorable awesome thing I've seen lately. This lady (_____ Lord) that lives near me and her friend (_____ Maxwell) have this blog where they pretend that they are a British Fashion Anthropologist and take pictures of awesome people in awesome outfits. If you read this Lord Maxwell I am honored to be a part of your collection of interesting people in interesting outfits. I also thank you because it has inspired me to get back into this blogging thing, because logging and blogging, and recording and all that stuff is important- because it just is- and I need to keep doing it. Why is it so satisfying writing shit on a blog?

My name is Amy Puzerewski, I currently live in Columbia, SC. I'm attending art school at USC. My work is an attempt to see life simply and humorously and from a very female perspective. I enjoy drawing moments from life that are cute or interesting, or ironic. My work can also be viewed from a design perspective. I focus heavily on composition, how certain colors, lines and text work together in a contained space. I'm influenced by graphic design. I want to grab the viewers attention, if only briefly, just like the designer- and I do this by using bright colors, bold lines, and short bits of text. I'm also influenced by graffiti, because I like the idea  of the in-formalized canvas, and art for everybody. Graphic design as well as graffiti are made for everybody. However my work is made in the studio, but I use everyday materials such as cardboard, pieces of wood, ad foam, most of which I find in the trash. In using such cheap materials I feel I can charge significantly less than other artists for my work. I want to make my art accessible to everyone, not just in understandable content, but in price. I also have the occasional piece of work in which I focus on composition alone, such as my cityscapes, or bubble paintings. I find this work to be very relaxing and I hope for the viewer as well. I think humor and relaxation are two of my favorite things, because they don't happen very often for me and they lead to the best feelings. Like when you see something cute, re you see something depressing, to turn it on it's head and make it funny. I paint/draw using a variety of media including graphite, oil-based paint pen, china marker, crayon, spray paint, but mostly ink and guashe. In the times I'm not painting I'm knitting and crocheting or playing with two super cute doggies.

Me and Fabio just got a new puppy so that Ziggy could have a friend to play with. She is a pitbull and we named her Columbia. She is really different than Ziggy cause she doesn't kiss so much as she bites, but I like how much of a fighter she is. 

Part of the series on nude women. Paint pen on cardboard. Paint is chipping really badly because the cardboard was coated with some shiny slick stuff, but I still like this one. I drew it on the box that my hello kitty toaster came in. I thought it was funny to think of the girl as a toaster.
